Ask Thy Father...

Hi Yall! How has fall been? I have been simply L.O.V.I.N.G. it! One of my absolutely favorite things to do in the fall/winter, is to sit on the couch with a warm blanket, a steaming cup of coco or tea, and a book! Ahhh, sounds wonderful!

Speaking of books, I just finished a wonderful book called Ask Thy Father By Amber Gray. In this book, Amber speaks about the beauties of family worship times and family devotions. She uses many examples from her own home, which was blessed with a father with a desire to share the mysteries of Gods word with his family, and to see that they grew up with the Word of God in their hearts. She shares how her family does family devotions time, and also shares from her own testimony how precious family worship is.

I really enjoyed this book. It caused me to realize how blessed I am to have grown up in a strong Christian family with a father who always sought to teach us Gods word and the mysteries therein. I never really stopped to think about the fact that many, many even Christian families have never known the blessings of family worship, nor have they experianced the family unity and strength that we gain through family worship and devotions.

I am very grateful that Amber has had the courage to share her heart on the matter of not just worship, but Family Worship. It is a very encouraging and eye opening book. I encourage you to all read it.

"Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations:
Ask thy father, and he will show thee;
Thy elders and they will tell thee."
(Duet 32:7)

"My Son, forget not my law;
but let thine heart keep my commandments."
(Prov 3:1)

"...O that they were wise, that they understood this,
that they would consider their latter end!"
(Duet 32:29)

This video is hilarious! It is the theam song from The Adams Family, but the words have been changed to say The Homeschool Family. My family and I recently found this and wanted to share it.

Hope you enjoyed that as much as our family did!

I Dared To Call Him Father

This is the amazing story of a Muslim woman's encounter with God, and how that encounter changed her life.

"How Do I give myself to God completely?"

"What happens when I do?"

"I Dared To Call Him Father is a book for anyone who has ever asked these questions."

"It is the fascinating true story of Bilquis Sheikh, a prominent Muslim woman in South Asia who faced these questions at the crossroads of her life - and found astonishing answers.

Her entire life turned upside down as a series of strange dreams launched her on a quest that would forever consume her heart, mind and soul."
~ Excerpt from back of book~

We recently finished reading this book as a family, and have been greatly blessed by the testimony of Bilquis Sheikh. We found ourselves amazed time and time again how deep and spiritually rich the Middle East is. They are far more aware of the spiritual world than we are:

"The fact is, it is much easier to talk to Easterners about spiritual things. They are willing to take the time because, as a rule, they believe in the supernatural and are very aware of the spiritual realm. Most secular Westerners, on the other hand, believe primarily in what can be seen or proven by the scientific method... Jesus was an Easterner."
~From the Afterword, By Synnove Mitchell~

This book is rich in the culture of the Middle East, and I believe that knowing this culture helps us to better understand Jesus, who was one of them.

Once again, our family was hugely blessed by reading this book.

Our Purpose

We are a family home based business located in the picturesque high desert of Central Oregon. We’ve established Christian Family Life Books to provide the Christian family with resources that encourage, build and strengthen Christian families in their battle against our cultures systematic attempts to tear down Christian family values. Our aim is to promote family unity, a sanctified lifestyle and a pure, holy and Christ centered worldview.

Our customers are those families who wish to get back to God’s standard for the godly home. We believe in the sanctity of the family and the preservation of Christian family values and traditions. Among the resources that we offer our customers are materials on the subjects of Christian patriarchy, Bible study resources, Christian womanhood, homeschool resources, holiness, Biblical principles and worldview, Christian entrepreneurship, Christian heritage, the faith of our fathers, reformation history, Christian history, creation science, clean ethical fiction, Christian music and country living. We offer a wide range of Vision Forum resources. We also offer Christian movies and links to movie reviews from a Christian perspective.

Many in the churches of today live their lives no differently than conservative unbelievers, except for the fact that they attend a church every Sunday. For many modern Christians, traditional Christian family values are almost non-existent. They watch the same television shows, and expose their eyes to the same lewd commercials. They share with the world in its materialistic pursuit of possessions and wealth. They lust with the same bloodthirsty excitement, after the same blood and guts that the Romans did, on their virtual arena called the TV. The Bible collects dust as TV, worldly magazines, and romance novels are their study resources. Their consciences are being calloused imperceptibly a little more every day, to the point that when confronted about what they allow in their life and in the life of their family, they see nothing wrong. It seems normal to them that their Bible study time is measured in minutes, while their main resources for value system training is the TV, measured in hours. In large part, what we know as Christian family values, have been replaced with worldly values. They and their children look no different than the unbelieving world. They are departing from the faith in increments so minute that it goes unnoticed. “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron” (1 Tim. 4:1,2).

Tertullian, a leader in the church in Carthage during the second and third centuries AD, wrote: “How can it be right to look at the things that are wrong to do? How can those things which defile a man when they go out of his mouth not defile him when going in through his eyes and ears?” Garbage in, garbage out! This goes on in the homes of many Christians every day, while at the same time their children are having their consciences calloused and seared even further through the public school system. The public school system is the alter of the world, and our children are the sacrifice. How can a young mind be subjected to the ways of the world, the pursuit of pleasure, sex education, toleration of homosexual lifestyles, peer pressure, drugs, promiscuity, and spend more time in the day saturated in this culture than in the home or in church, and not be defiled? Their training ground is the world. Their consciences are being seared. Many have seen this trend, and thus the homeschool movement has gained in popularity. Yet we must be awake to the fact that using public school resources to homeschool is almost as dangerous, as worldly values are embedded throughout. Clean, well thought out homeschool resources that embed Christian family values within the materials are available today that provide the homeschool with resources designed to reverse the trend outlined above.

We slumber, while the wolves are at the door and our children are the prize. We are offering our children to be spiritually slaughtered, just as Lot offered his daughters when the debased population of Sodom was pressing against his door. If the mind of a child is constantly bombarded with ungodly practices, their souls are progressively destroyed. Their conscience atrophies, their sense of shame dries up, their capacity for truthfulness, loyalty, and honesty is eaten away, and their character disintegrates. They are steadily conformed to the image of this world. How can we imagine it being any other way? Yet our precious Scriptures tell us that “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this…to keep oneself unspotted from the world” (James 1:27). Are we unabashedly preparing our children to be enemies of God and friends of the world? Are we replacing our traditional Christian family values with the worlds? Are we sending our little ones off to training camp to learn how to be sinful?

So it is our aim and goal to offer the alternative to blindly handing our children over to strangers every day, into a world that, by its very nature can do no more than teach our children how to be sinful. We aim to encourage parents to be more familiar with the words of the lover of our souls, than with the latest weekly sit-com. With that aim in mind, Christian Family Life Books provides solid Bible study resources designed to challenge our value system. We aim to encourage parents to take back control of what our precious children will be taught, through the use of homeschool resources that are designed to teach a value system that lines up with Biblical principles. We strive to equip families with the resources to effectively homeschool their children, to teach Christian family values, to walk in God’s will and to stand out as a different people “unspotted by the world” (James 1:27) in a twisted and perverse generation.

God Bless you
