Ask Thy Father...

Hi Yall! How has fall been? I have been simply L.O.V.I.N.G. it! One of my absolutely favorite things to do in the fall/winter, is to sit on the couch with a warm blanket, a steaming cup of coco or tea, and a book! Ahhh, sounds wonderful!

Speaking of books, I just finished a wonderful book called Ask Thy Father By Amber Gray. In this book, Amber speaks about the beauties of family worship times and family devotions. She uses many examples from her own home, which was blessed with a father with a desire to share the mysteries of Gods word with his family, and to see that they grew up with the Word of God in their hearts. She shares how her family does family devotions time, and also shares from her own testimony how precious family worship is.

I really enjoyed this book. It caused me to realize how blessed I am to have grown up in a strong Christian family with a father who always sought to teach us Gods word and the mysteries therein. I never really stopped to think about the fact that many, many even Christian families have never known the blessings of family worship, nor have they experianced the family unity and strength that we gain through family worship and devotions.

I am very grateful that Amber has had the courage to share her heart on the matter of not just worship, but Family Worship. It is a very encouraging and eye opening book. I encourage you to all read it.

"Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations:
Ask thy father, and he will show thee;
Thy elders and they will tell thee."
(Duet 32:7)

"My Son, forget not my law;
but let thine heart keep my commandments."
(Prov 3:1)

"...O that they were wise, that they understood this,
that they would consider their latter end!"
(Duet 32:29)

Here is a movie that is kind of new to our website! It is called Luther. Our family LOVES this movie, and have watched it many times. As far as we know, it is verry historicaly correct and fairly accurate to the actual story of luther.
